La Coolboy 400 in 1 Real Game è una cartuccia pirata per Famicom e Famicloni realizzata in Cina dall'azienda Fuzhou Coolboy Electronics.
Si tratta di una multicartuccia, ossia una cartuccia di gioco il cui contenuto presenta più giochi. A differenza di molte multicartucce per Famicom/Famicloni che affermano di contenere un vasto numero di videogiochi ma di solito ne contengono solo una dozzina ripetuti, Coolboy 400 in 1 Real Game comprende realmente 400 giochi come dichiarato dal nome della cartuccia, arrivando a comprendere anche tre giochi extra, per un totale di 403 giochi.
Coolboy 400 in 1 Real Game è basata su un'altra cartuccia di gioco simile chiamata 245 in 1 real game, realizzata dagli stessi autori e funzionante solo in alcuni famicloni, necessitando modifiche ad un Famicom originale per il corretto funzionamento della multicartuccia.
Panoramica
Questa multicartuccia per Famicom ha una dimensione di 32 megabyte, la più grande disponibile al momento della sua uscita (da allora è stata superata dalle cartucce da 64 e 128 MB).
Alcuni dei giochi sono ripetizioni o hack di altri giochi inclusi. Tuttavia, vale la pena notare che ciò è dovuto al fatto che tali giochi sono duplicati nella ROM. Gli ultimi 104 giochi (e molti altri) sono realizzati dalla Nice Code Software. La maggior parte dei giochi da 1 a 245 sono gli stessi di 245-in-1 Real Game, salvo alcune piccole eccezioni.
Premendo i tasti 'sinistra' o 'destra' il giocatore verrà portato alla schermata del menu precedente o successiva. Non è possibile saltare più schermate contemporaneamente.
A differenza delle multicartucce 150 in 1 Real Game o 245 in 1 Real Game, La Coolboy 400 in 1 Real Game funziona perfettamente su un vero Famicom. (Tuttavia, ci sono alcune versioni che potrebbero non funzionare correttamente e pertanto richiede la modifica del PCB per funzionare).
Esistono almeno due versioni di 400-in-1 Real Game: una ha ha esattamente 400 giochi, e quella successiva, che, nonostante affermi di avere 400 giochi, include 3 giochi extra. Questi giochi extra sono in realtà delle rom-hack di videogiochi Nintendo ufficiali vagamente ispirate da programmi televisivi cinesi.
Si possono trovare sia delle cartucce a 60pin tipiche dei Famicom e della stragrande maggioranza dei famicloni reperibili in commercio, sia delle cartucce a 72pin, tipico dei NES statunitensi ed europei. L'etichetta apposta sulle cartucce presenta un'immagine dei protagonisti del videogioco Resident Evil 5, uscito per PlayStation 3, Xbox360, Microsoft Windows e sulle principali consoles di ottava generazione, tuttavia nella cartuccia di gioco non sarà presente nemmeno una Rom-hack ispirata alla serie survival horror della Capcom.
